Like we do with everything, we
are very open with the kids about sickness and death. We answer the questions they ask as honestly and age-appropriately as we can. Kids can handle more than we tend to expect.

The kids joked about making valentine boxes and handing out cards to each other. I suggested a craft project to send our love to family who we haven’t been able to see much (or at all) over the last year instead. It was a hit!

2021… New Year’s Eve came and went. The kids had a blast! Nic and I loved watching them – seeing their hope and optimism for the new year. But if I’m being honest, I don’t have my typical “new year, fresh start” kind of outlook this year.
